ORTHOPEDIC SURGEON, KEVIN TRAPP, MD SELECTED AS ONE OF THE 2009 RISING STARS OF ORANGE COUNTY

Middletown, NY – October 26, 2009 –Crystal Run Healthcare is pleased to announce that Kevin Trapp, MD, Orthopedic Surgeon, has been selected as one of the 2009 Rising Stars of Orange County – a program hosted by founding organizations Junior League of Orange County, Leadership Orange and the Orange County Chamber of Commerce.

These awards recognize individuals between the ages of 21 and 40 who are up-and-coming leaders in their professional and volunteer lives. “This award is given in recognition of Dr. Trapp’s professional and volunteer activities, demonstrated leadership and the impact he has had on the organizations in which he is involved,” John A. D’ Ambrosio, Ed.D, President, Orange County Chamber of Commerce.

Dr. Trapp is a board certified orthopedic surgeon and has been with Crystal Run Healthcare since 2004. Dr. Trapp serves as Chairman of the Department of Orthopedics for Orange Regional Medical Center. Scott Batulis, CEO of Orange Regional Medical Center and James Oxley, DO, Board of Directors nominated Dr. Trapp as a Rising Star. “On behalf of Orange Regional Medical Center, I congratulate Dr. Trapp on his achievement,” said Orange Regional President & CEO Scott Batulis. “His commitment to this hospital, the community and his profession is deserving of this acknowledgment.”

Dr. Trapp attended Cornell University Medical College in New York. He completed an Internship in General Surgery and an Orthopedic Residency at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, where he was awarded “Orthopedic Resident of the Year” from 1999 to 2000. Dr. Trapp completed a Fellowship in Adult Joint Reconstruction at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, NY. He has extreme interest and specialized training in joint replacement, including revision of the hip, knee and shoulder. In addition, he obtained specialty training in arthroscopy of the hip. Dr. Trapp is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and specializes in Reconstructive Surgery.

Dr. Trapp will be recognized at the 2009 Rising Star awards breakfast, Thursday November 19, 2009 at Anthony’s Pier 9 in New Windsor.
