About Me

What made you want to become a health care provider or what is your earliest memory of wanting to be one?

In high school, I fractured my small finger while playing ice hockey, which required surgical intervention. After my surgery, I was able to talk with the Orthopedic residents and my treating surgeon about their profession. As a result, I became interested in the field.

What do you love most about your specialty? / Why did you choose your specialty?

I love orthopedics because the field is constantly evolving as we gain more knowledge about musculoskeletal injuries and their treatments. As a result, I am focused on continued growth and improvement as an orthopedic surgeon in an effort to provide the best care for each patient. I chose orthopedics because I enjoy the personal interactions with patients and being able to help them return to their prior level of activity after an injury.

How do you connect with your patients?

The most important way to connect with patients is to listen and understand what issues brought them in for a particular visit. With this understanding, I am able to develop a meaningful relationship with each patient and help them achieve their desired goal.

What are your interests outside of the office (hobbies, activities)?

My family and I are very active outdoors in all weather conditions. We enjoy hiking, cycling, alpine skiing, and snow shoeing. I am also very engaged in learning the French language as my wife is French and we enjoy visiting her family in France every summer.

What is your advice for your patients?

The most important advice that I give to all of my patients is to be patient with their recovery after an injury. Surgical and non-surgical treatments take time, and this is the most important factor for an optimal outcome.
