About Me

What made you want to become a health care provider or what is your earliest memory of wanting to be one?

I was always interested in science in school, however, while studying genetics in college I realized that what really fascinated me was the translation of the scientific knowledge and research into advancements that could have a real impact on people's lives.  I felt that medicine provided a unique opportunity to be a part of that process and witness the profound benefits for patients.

What do you love most about your specialty? / Why did you choose your specialty?

Orthopedic surgery, as well as hand surgery specifically, can have an extraordinary impact on the quality of lives of patients. Meeting someone coming in with an injury or problem, being with them through surgery and recovery, and then seeing them get back to the activities and hobbies that bring them joy is the most rewarding part of my specialty.

How do you connect with your patients?

I try to really listen to patients' concerns and learn about the impact their injury or condition is having on their lives. I prefer to offer a collaborative approach in which we work together to design a treatment plan based on individual preferences and goals.

What are your interests outside of the office (hobbies, activities)?

Traveling, Cooking, Gardening, Hiking

What is your advice for your patients?

Be involved in your own treatment and recovery. Putting in the time and work for therapy and being an advocate for yourself will help you achieve the best outcome.
