FAST: Know the Warning Signs of a Stroke
Do you know the warning signs of a stroke? Do you have a hard time remembering them? Use the simple acronym FAST to help identify and remember the signs of a stroke.
FAST stands for:
- Face
- Arms
- Speech
- Time
The first three refer to symptoms of a stroke. The last one refers to the timing in seeking treatment if the symptoms are present, even if they have subsided. The sooner a person seeks medical care for a stroke, the more likely the person is to have fewer long-term side-effects.
