Hiking Tips:
- Always bring more water than you need.
- Bring snacks. Trail mix, granola bars, etc. are all great hiking snacks.
- If you’re hiking alone, let someone know where you’re going and what route you are taking to get there. It is also helpful to give them a time frame on when you think you will be back.
- You may not get cell service so make sure you have a printed map as well.
- Pack a first aid kit! Make sure to have band aids for any blisters you may get.
- Check for ticks! Stop periodically throughout your hike to brush yourself for ticks. Also check when you get home from your hike.
- Keep a small flashlight in your backpack in case the hike takes longer than anticipated and it starts to get dark.
