American Medical Group Association (AMGA) Announces Scott Hines, M.D, as Chair of AMGA Public Policy Committee

Middletown, N.Y. – April 1, 2015 AMGA is pleased to announce the appointment of Scott Hines, M.D. as Chair of the AMGA Public Policy Committee (PPC). Dr. Hines serves as Chief Quality Officer and Medical Director of Crystal Run Healthcare’s medical specialties division in Middletown, NY. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism. He received his medical degree from Wake Forest University, completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center and completed his Endocrinology Fellowship at the University of Maryland Medical Center.

“Dr. Hines has a proven track record of advocacy for medical groups and providing valuable insight on healthcare policy issues,” said Chet Speed, AMGA’s Vice President for Public Policy.  “Dr. Hines is a practicing physician and understands the need, and challenges, in transitioning to a value based healthcare system.  We look forward to his leadership of the Public Policy Committee.  AGMA’s Public Policy Committee sets the advocacy and policy agenda for AMGA and works closely with AMGA Public Policy Department to develop policy and to advocate for the medical group model.
