Crystal Run Healthcare Physicians Continue to Participate in S.T.E.M. Program
Middletown, N.Y. – May 1st, 2017 – Crystal Run Healthcare continues to partner with On My Way Early Learning & Childcare Center to progress its S.T.E.M. program – Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics – with monthly lectures from Crystal Run Healthcare physicians. The program puts an emphasis on providing students with education and skills beyond the classroom curriculum in order for them to explore, discover, and learn. Each month, a Crystal Run physician volunteers their time to present to Pre K 3 and Pre K 4 students with hands-on lessons ranging from Audiology and Cardiology, to Internal Medicine and Pediatrics - part of the childcare center’s science initiative. So far this year, Crystal Run Healthcare Gastroenterologist, Dr. Alex Gershenhorn, Cardiologist, Dr. Sandeep Singh, Orthopedic Surgeon, Dr. Samir Sodha, and Pediatrician, Dr. Jocelyn Dummett, have given presentations including short educational videos, activities, and anatomy models to further enhance the student’s learning process and increase participation.

Each month, Crystal Run Physicians conduct a hands-on interactive assembly that provides the children with an incredible learning experience. The children are able to learn the science behind the human body, the technology the physicians use, as well as the mathematics required in order for the physician to excel in his/her specialty. Through this partnership, the children have learned the importance of overall good health, gained incredible knowledge about the human body, and the important role leaders like Crystal Run Healthcare Physicians and Staff play in our community”, said Peggy Fuentes, owner of On My Way Early Learning & Childcare Center.
