About Me
What made you want to become a health care provider or what is your earliest memory of wanting to be one?
Biology was my favorite subject in school. My love for biology and desire to help people and alleviate their sufferings inspired me to pursue a career in Medicine. I used to accompany my uncle for his dialysis sessions during my undergraduate years and got the opportunity to observe the hospital setting closely. This experience reinforced my passion and love for Medicine.
What do you love most about your specialty? / Why did you choose your specialty?
I like how gastrointestinal diseases are very diverse because the gastrointestinal tract is a large organ system of the body, including the liver, biliary tract, and pancreas. I also greatly admire the latest advances in this field with minimally invasive procedures that have positively impacted the lives of our patients. I love how colon cancer screening is saving so many lives every day.
How do you connect with your patients?
I connect with my patients with a friendly smile and caring body language. I always offer to listen to my patients attentively and spend time with them.
What are your interests outside of the office (hobbies, activities)?
I enjoy spending time with my family. I take an interest in politics, current affairs, and budgeting. I enjoy watching TV shows about flipping houses and furniture.
What is your advice for your patients?
In general, I advise them to eat healthily, do a lot of physical activity and take care of themselves. In regards to my specialty, I advise them to get themselves and their family members screened for colon cancer.
