About Me
What made you want to become a health care provider or what is your earliest memory of wanting to be one?
I aspired to become a doctor for as long as I can remember. Growing up, I had a great pediatrician who not only had answers for my medical concerns, but also had a calming presence that put my family at ease. He was my doctor until I reached early adulthood, showing me the value of continuity of care. As I learned about health disparities in my community, I felt that becoming a physician was the best way I could give back and make a difference.
What do you love most about your specialty? / Why did you choose your specialty?
I chose Family Medicine due to the appeal of being a “jack of all trades.” I take pride in the broad scope of the field and the ability to treat patients in all stages of life. It is satisfying getting to know entire families and being the person patients refer to as “my doctor.”
How do you connect with your patients?
I usually connect with my patients with humor and shared interests. I strongly believe in shared decision-making and working as a team to achieve the best health outcomes.
What are your interests outside of the office (hobbies, activities)?
I enjoy spending time with my family and friends and trying different restaurants. I like to play video games, board games, and do various arts and crafts. I am also a fountain pen enthusiast.
What is your advice for your patients?
I give my patients the same advice I give my family and friends: set small, attainable goals. Strike a balance between indulgence and long term health.
