About Me
What made you want to become a health care provider or what is your earliest memory of wanting to be one?
My mother was a nurse, and I had medical problems growing up. When I got older, I knew I wanted to help kids deal with medical conditions so they can grow up to be healthy adults!
What do you love most about your specialty? / Why did you choose your specialty?
The best part is when a kiddo starts getting better, and returns to the happy, playful child the family recognizes again. Helping kids cope with and get through medical problems is why I got into Pediatrics. Kids being adorable is a huge plus too!
How do you connect with your patients?
I connect with patients and families by being authentic and showing that we have the same goal: to help them be as healthy as possible. I also grew up in a very small town in Illinois, and later lived in Chicago; I feel I can relate to anyone with a friendly conversation.
What are your interests outside of the office (hobbies, activities)?
I like to get outside! I play a lot of basketball and bike to see the local nature. I also like to paint and listen to old records. Otherwise, my fiancee and I spend a lot of time playing with our tiny dog, Pierre.
What is your advice for your patients?
Avoid sugary drinks and soda! Find any kind of exercise that you enjoy, and stick with it! And get outside!
