Coronavirus Update from Crystal Run Healthcare
Dear Patients of Crystal Run, |
My purpose in writing today is to provide information about COVID-19 and how we at Crystal Run are responding to the current pandemic. Most importantly, I urge calm. Of course, any “new” disease is scary for everyone. And all of us at Crystal Run are saddened that some people across the globe, across the country, and across New York have become ill, and that some have died from this disease. But, from what we know now, the vast majority of individuals who are infected with the novel coronavirus recover uneventfully. I want to assure you that we at Crystal Run have been planning our response to COVID-19 for some time. We have been participating in State and Federal agency updates regarding COVID-19, and we have developed plans to care for our sick patients while protecting all patients, providers and staff, consistent with Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and New York State Department of Health (DOH) guidelines. Specifically, we have implemented strict protocols for masking patients, use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and physical distancing of patients at-risk for COVID-19 from other patients by, among other things, using designated exam rooms for those patients and using strict disinfection protocols. As the number of individuals who need evaluation for possible COVID-19 increases, we are designating specific office and Urgent Care locations for evaluation of individuals who may be infected with the novel Coronavirus. I take the oath I recited when I became a physician very seriously, and the other physicians, providers and staff at Crystal Run are similarly committed to doing everything they can to serve the best interests of our patients, every day. The care we provide our patients is important, and must and will continue. We are here for you, our patients, no matter what your health issue. I am very fortunate to have an amazing group of colleagues at Crystal Run—clinical and non-clinical staff alike—who truly care about, as well as care for, those we serve. I thank you, our patients, for putting your trust in us. Together we will rise to the challenge of keeping you and our community healthy. Dr T Hal Teitelbaum, MD, JD, MBA | Managing Partner & CEO |
