Crystal Run Healthcare Hosts Blood Drive in Middletown
Middletown, N.Y. – AUGUST 30, 2018 – Crystal Run Healthcare hosted a local blood drive on August 17th at its 155 Crystal Run Road location in Middletown to support the New York Blood Center (NYBC). 29 units of blood were collected from donors in an ongoing effort to address the critical blood shortage in the Hudson Valley. The recent blood drive marks the third for Crystal Run this year, bringing the total number of units donated in 2018 to 76. The next two blood drives to benefit the NYBC will take place at Crystal Run’s location in West Nyack on September 4th and in Middletown at 95 Crystal Run Road on September 7th.
“Everyone at Crystal Run wants to do their part to help reduce the critical blood shortage and help our communities in need. We had 29 blood donations that will help 87 patients with their upcoming treatments and procedures, said Eileen Hogan, Director of Operations at Crystal Run Healthcare. “We encourage everyone to donate blood because you never know when you might need it. Thank you to everyone who contributed to the blood drive, it was a great experience for all.”
In 2017, employees of Crystal Run along with some community members donated a total of 135 pints of blood to the NYBC and the Red Cross through six blood drives across multiple practice locations. Crystal Run Healthcare supports organizations like the NYBC to help the 4.5 million Americans each year that need blood transfusions.
