Crystal Run Healthcare Hosts Blood Drives in West Nyack and Middletown
Crystal Run Healthcare hosted two local blood drives to support the New York Blood Center (NYBC). 15 pints were collected at the first blood drive on September 4th in West Nyack and 26 pints were collected at the second on September 7th in Middletown at the practices 95 Crystal Run Road location. A total of 41 units of blood were collected from donors in an ongoing effort to address the critical blood shortage in the Hudson Valley. These recent blood drives make five for Crystal Run this year, bringing the total number of units donated in 2018 to 117. Crystal Run will host more blood drives in the spring of 2019.
“Crystal Run is committed to helping the New York Blood Center end the critical blood shortage in the communities we serve. Each donation is going to help someone in need and we take pride in being a part of that,” said Kate Bayley, Director of Operations, West Nyack at Crystal Run Healthcare.
“More than 100 people will be impacted by the 41 blood donations we collected during both blood drives,” added Deb Hoffman, CMPE, Director of Operations, 95 Crystal Run Road. “We’ve had a great response from the employees and the community at this year’s blood drives and we look forward to hosting more next year.”
In 2017, employees of Crystal Run along with some community members donated a total of 135 pints of blood to the NYBC and the Red Cross through six blood drives across multiple practice locations. Crystal Run Healthcare supports organizations like the NYBC to help the 4.5 million Americans each year that need blood transfusions.
