Crystal Run Healthcare Raises Over $5,100 for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention

Crystal Run Leads Out of the Darkness Community Walk as Top Fundraiser
Middletown, N.Y. – September 29, 2015 – Crystal Run Healthcare, led by Drs. Nicholas and Lisa Batson of the Psychiatry Division and 30 walkers, participated in the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention Out of the Darkness Community Walk on Sunday, September 20th. Crystal Run Healthcare was the top fundraiser and was chosen to lead the walk, which took place at The Heritage Trail in Monroe, NY. Prior to the event, Crystal Run held a practice-wide dress down day and bake sale where employees personally donated money to help raise funds and awareness for suicide prevention. In total, $5,169 was raised by Crystal Run Healthcare and donated to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) is the leader in the fight against suicide and is at the forefront of research, education and prevention initiatives to reduce the loss of life from suicide. With more than 38,000 lives lost each year in the U.S. and over one million worldwide, the importance of the AFSP’s mission to reverse the trend of suicide increasing has never been greater.
