Crystal Run Healthcare Selects Health Catalyst's Late-Binding Analytics Platform
MIDDLETOWN, NY and SALT LAKE CITY, UT--(Marketwired - Dec 10, 2013) - Crystal Run Healthcare, a jointly certified Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and NCQA Accountable Care Organization (ACO), and one of the most innovative multi-specialty group practices in America, has selected the Health Catalyst data warehousing and analytics platform as the foundation of their analytics strategy. The agreement marks the first time that the Health Catalyst product line will be deployed in an ambulatory care setting outside of a hospital-based health system.
Crystal Run has more than 300 physicians in over 40 medical specialties with locations across the mid-Hudson Valley and lower Catskill region, one of the East Coast's largest technology corridors. A national leader in the delivery of integrated, coordinated care, Crystal Run is designated by the NCQA as a level 3 Patient Centered-Medical Home, and was selected by CMS as one of the first 27 Accountable Care Organizations in the nation to participate in the Medicare Shared Savings Program (MSSP).
Under the agreement, Health Catalyst will aggregate data from at least 10 source systems including clinical, financial, claims, and human resources into a comprehensive, analytic picture of healthcare quality, clinical effectiveness and cost. Health Catalyst's analytic applications will help Crystal Run better manage chronic disease and overall population health, as well as improve risk management, regulatory reporting and other clinical and financial functions.
"Physicians are the most data-driven professionals in the world, but we never seem to have access to the data we need, when we need it, in the format we need," said Greg Spencer, MD, Chief Medical Officer of Crystal Run. "Our physicians want a unified and flexible view of data from EHRs and other clinical and financial applications so they can optimize the care they provide. We believe Health Catalyst's combination of data warehousing technology, sophisticated analytics applications, and experience with the cultural adoption of analytics is unique in the healthcare industry. We are pleased to be their first ambulatory physician practice, and believe the innovative but systematic culture of both companies is a great match."
Dan Burton, CEO of Health Catalyst, commented, "We've established a strong track record for helping large hospital organizations adjust to the future of healthcare and become more data driven; but the majority of accountable care organizations are led by independent physician groups and that percentage is growing. Crystal Run is an organization that embraces change and is comfortable acting as an industry pioneer. We are thrilled that they chose Health Catalyst as a partner in what is, for us, a very important, strategic relationship."
Built for today's needs while adaptable for tomorrow's, Health Catalyst's Late-Binding™ data warehousing and analytics platform normalizes disparate data sources and enables data access, discovery, analysis and reporting. The approach not only is faster and more agile than traditional "early-binding" enterprise data warehouses, but it also addresses the need for clinical analysis of near-real time information to track and improve care for whole populations of patients.
Health Catalyst deploys with 14 standard content-driven analytics applications and a framework that enables rapid development of hundreds of new applications to solve both basic and complex reporting needs for a healthcare delivery system.
