A Few Words From Our Founder

Thank you for visiting the Crystal Run Healthcare website. As you click around and learn more about the many advantages of being a Crystal Run patient, I think you’ll discover that Crystal Run is unlike any other Practice in the area, and for good reason. Having started my own solo practice in 1982, I eventually realized that the traditional single-specialty model of care – with internists working alone, cardiologists working alone, and neurologists working alone, in separate practices – wasn’t working because it couldn’t provide patients with the quality care and convenience they so deserved. So, in 1996 I established Crystal Run, a multi-specialty medical practice that put many physicians, specialists, and services under one roof. This made it easier for doctors and support staff to communicate and work closely, together as a team. And, it made it easier for patients to meet most of their healthcare needs in one place. 

Today, Crystal Run Healthcare is a market leader in care delivery with a lot to be proud of, like our growing roster of academically trained physicians; numerous technology and procedural “firsts” in our region; early use of electronic health records; Patient Centered Medical Home recognition, AAAHC Accreditation, and more.

As an organization, we continually strive to provide better healthcare - and a better healthcare system - to every friend, neighbor, and community we serve. That's why in early 2023 after a thorough evaluation of potential partners to join to take the Practice to the next level of patient care, myself and the 133 physician owners of Crystal Run Healthcare decided to join Optum. I believe that partnering with Optum allows Crystal Run to continue providing patients with the high-quality and compassionate care they have come to expect from us while also leveraging the vast resources of Optum to strengthen the great care we deliver every day.
