About Me
What made you want to become a health care provider or what is your earliest memory of wanting to be one?
In high school and college while studying to become a physical therapist, I spent time with a physician who did a lot of musculoskeletal medicine and OMT (osteopathic manipulation treatment). I quickly realized that this was what I wanted to do and changed course to medicine and medical school.
What do you love most about your specialty? / Why did you choose your specialty?
I think sports medicine gives the best mix of long term care with patients where a relationship of trust and easy communication can be formed, with therapies and procedures to help aid and fix painful and debilitating conditions. Plus, it's pretty fun to use an ultrasound!
How do you connect with your patients?
I don't think there are any special ways to connect with patients. I treat them how I treat any other person in my life- show respect, empathy, kindness, and a little bit of humor.
What are your interests outside of the office (hobbies, activities)?
On my weekends, you can find me out and about with my wife, my daughter, and dogs. Visiting various hiking trails, restaurants, parks, playing backyard football and pick-up basketball games, training at a martial arts gym, and sometimes on the couch watching sports or playing video games.
What is your advice for your patients?
Exercise is medicine! The more active you stay, the less time you'll need to spend in a doctor's office (even though I love to see you at my office)
