About Me
What made you want to become a health care provider or what is your earliest memory of wanting to be one?
For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to have a role where I can support others. I also enjoy learning and keeping up on new research. Genetic counseling has allowed me to combine my interests in science, medicine, and helping others.
What do you love most about your specialty? / Why did you choose your specialty?
I enjoy the complexity of genetics and thinking about how this information can best be communicated to others so that families are empowered to make decisions that fit their personal and cultural values.
How do you connect with your patients?
I always want to give patients and families the space to tell me their perspective and their story so that I can better address their concerns. Every family is unique, and I want to ensure that patients are both knowledgeable about and supported in making medical decisions that best meet their needs. This requires listening deeply to each patient that I meet.
What are your interests outside of the office (hobbies, activities)?
Running with my dog, indoor bouldering, hiking, reading
What is your advice for your patients?
Take the time you need to think through any questions or concerns that you have and process the information we've talked about. I'm always reachable if further discussion would be helpful
