About Me
What made you want to become a health care provider or what is your earliest memory of wanting to be one?
I actually wrote I wanted to become a doctor in my 8th grade graduation yearbook. I grew up as an avid learner of biology and chemistry, and I wanted to learn something I could apply to help people. I did an internship in college with a group of surgeons and I knew I wanted to become a surgeon after my first day in the operating room with them.
What do you love most about your specialty? / Why did you choose your specialty?
Bariatric Surgery allows me to help patients who have suffered with obesity for most of their lives. It is my pleasure to help my patients change their lives for the better after surgery.
How do you connect with your patients?
I like to encourage my patients that with my help, and the help of all members of the caregiving team, there is no problem or situation we cannot overcome. I want to instill confidence in my patients that they are making the right decisions for their health.
What are your interests outside of the office (hobbies, activities)?
I like to play indoor and outdoor volleyball and I enjoy following soccer, my favorite team is Manchester United. I like going to the movies and traveling around the world.
What is your advice for your patients?
Please ask questions! There are no stupid questions regarding your health. You will feel more confident in your healthcare decisions the more informed you feel.
