Middletown, N.Y. – May 10th, 2017 – Crystal Run Healthcare is a proud recipient of this year’s Business Partner Award from Orange-Ulster BOCES, which was given to the practice during an annual partnership breakfast on Wednesday, May 3rd, held at BOCES’ Goshen, NY, campus. Each year, the award recognizes a partnership that continuously provides students with a variety of clinical learning opportunities and experiences.
Crystal Run Healthcare has partnered with Orange-Ulster BOCES for over a decade as part of the organization’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs. Crystal Run provides clinical experiences for students enrolled in the Medical Administrative Assistant, Allied Health (Medical Assistant), Pharmacy Technician, and Practical Nurse programs. Specifically, the Allied Health program that Crystal Run participates in provides students with experience and skills in patient services, health information management (HIM), radiology, laboratory services, and more. In the first year of the program, students are exposed to a large number of settings and occupations and in year two, students ultimately pick their field of choice. Crystal Run Healthcare also participates in the Practical Nurse program and mentors students in a variety of clinical settings, assisting them in their coursework and clinical rotations and ultimately leading them towards a license in nursing.
“With the assistance of Crystal Run as our ongoing business partner, students are able to complete their required 320 hours of clinical work in the Practical Nurse program, which we wouldn’t be able to do without the practice,” said Trish Huggins, M.S.E.D., BS Nursing, RNC, Work-Based Learning Coordinator and Team Leader of the Practical Nurse Program at OU BOCES.
“For more than 10 years, Crystal Run Healthcare has been proud to participate with the Orange-Ulster BOCES students in the Allied Health and LPN programs. Our preceptors work exceptionally hard to ensure each student has a great experience and we are honored to be chosen as partnership of the year,” said Denise Atkinson, Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist at Crystal Run Healthcare.
