Crystal Run Healthcare Providers Participate in Pine Bush High School Medical Academy for 7th Year
Middletown, N.Y. – July 26, 2018 – On Friday, July 6th, over fifty five students from the Pine Bush High School Summer Medical Academy visited Crystal Run Healthcare in Middletown. For the 7th year in a row, physicians and staff presented various medical specialties and career paths to the high school students.
Crystal Run providers and staff that presented to the class included: Andrea Isaacs MD, FCCP, specializing in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine; Matthew Leone, MD, specializing in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism; Ying Yang MD, PhD, specializing in Cardiology; Elynor Giannin Perez DPM, FACFAS, specializing in Podiatry and Foot & Ankle surgery; and Raymond Farquharson, Director of Diagnostic Imaging and Danielle Zwart, RT(R)(CT).
The Pine Bush High School Summer Medical Academy offers students an academic program to enrich and educate about the field of medicine. Tapping into the expertise of local professionals, such as Crystal Run Healthcare providers and staff, participants have the opportunity to educate students via real life experience. Students who applied for enrollment were selected based on their interest in healthcare, academic performance, and recommendation by their principal or science department head.
Crystal Run Healthcare has had a long-standing commitment to supporting youth education as well as giving back to the local community. Since 2011, the practice has awarded scholarships to students in our community in excess of $32,000. Crystal Run Healthcare providers and staff look forward each year to participating in the Summer Medical Academy and having the opportunity to contribute to the students’ education and interest in a career in the medial field.
