Twenty-four Rockland County Students Complete Second Year of Young Physicians Program at Crystal Run Healthcare
Today, Crystal Run Healthcare announced that twenty-four (24) local students successfully completed the practice’s second year of the Young Physicians Program in West Nyack. The program, founded and led by Dr. Robert S. Walker in 2017, provides high school juniors and seniors interested in pursuing a career in the medical field with the opportunity to attend lectures and engage in interactive demonstrations in a variety of medical specialties and settings with Crystal Run providers and staff.
Twenty-four high school juniors and seniors were accepted into the program from area high schools including, Clarkstown North, Clarkstown South, Nanuet, Albertus Magnus, Pearl River, North Rockland, Nyack, and Tappan Zee. Students participated in eight sessions, including the following:
- Introduction to Crystal Run Healthcare, Kate Bayley, Director of Operations, West Nyack
- Healthy Hearts – Cardiology, Dr. Jonathan Katz
- Healthy Skin – Dermatology, Dr. Charles Kwak
- Emergency Preparedness – Urgent Care, Dr. Noble Jacob
- The Importance of Pre-Screening – Digital Imaging, Stacy Bruno, CT/MR Team Lead
- Good Nutrition – Gastroenterology, Dr. Robert Walker
- The Right Step – Podiatry, Dr. Katherine Ward-Buckley
- Mellow your Mood – Adolescent Medicine, Dr. Michele Calderoni
